Tips & Tricks
So, you bought an RV… now what? It can be overwhelming as a rookie but don’t worry we are here to help! If you’re a CampMart customer, we’ll show you the ropes. You’ll receive a full walkthrough of your trailer upon delivery or pick-up.
As for the rest of you, we’ve got you covered. Here are our top 5 tips so you can hit the road prepared.
- Improve your packing technique. What do you need to bring on your first RV trip? We suggest making a list and packing light. You will learn a lot on your first trip, including what you should and shouldn’t have packed. There are some essentials that you cannot forget – like lots of layers and food for the road.
- Plan your meals ahead of time. If you haven’t had much practice, cooking on the road can be tricky. We suggest doing some meal prep of simple recipes and making sure you pack sufficient cookware!
- Prepare for RVing with animals. Our four-legged family members have their own list of essentials to pack on your next RV Trip. Collapsible bowls are perfect for the outdoors and pack away easily. Make sure you always have your pet’s important basics with you like their leash, collar and tags, medications and health documents in case of an emergency. Lastly, make sure where you are headed is pet-friendly!
- Choose your dream destination. The possibilities are endless in an RV, so where will you go for your first trip? Regardless of the destination, you will want to find a campsite that the whole family will love – like ones with pools and playgrounds!
- Get to your campground before dark. Whether you’re driving into a campground, an RV park or a place in the woods for boondocking, it’s important to be able to see your surroundings. It’s hard to determine whether you’ve parked safely (and level) in the dark. Map out your trip so you get to your overnight parking spot before dark.
